Hulk-type muscular monsters are a dime a dozen, but this one looks impressive and unique. I especially like the plugs and ports on his costume, which seem to indicate a use of chemicals to pump up a la Bane.
….and I see that Meta-Girl is going to have her hands full.
Yeah, I debated long and hard before putting a hulk-like monster in there. Hopefully a couple of things we find out toward the end of the issue help add to his uniqueness. These are mostly stand alone stories but they tie into a bigger plot that will open up over time as well
I love this page. The monster is great! My favorite panel is the one with the single foot thumping down, sinking into the asphalt and with all the veins standing out. Very nicely done.
This page loves you too! That sequence on the top is a little bit of an homage to the Death Of Superman where Doomsday isn’t really shown on the first few pages and you just see a fist punching a wall (to my recollection). That’s stuck in my mind since I was a kid. Wanted to create that sort of feel here with Mr. McScary BigDude here.
i personally think that if everyone realizes the lack of budget jon has and the ability of his writing, thought process, etc you’d realize for what it is, it’s amazingly done and up there with what we’d see in actual budgeted popular works-
