Issue 7 Page 4
Ahh the splash page. In a lot of ways, due to the format of this book both being online, and the posting going once a week, it doesn’t work so great. When it’s put together in the physical books though, I promise you it looks a lot nicer.
In theory, this is where one would put the credits, the individual story title and all that, but with an online post, that again is unnecessary.
But I still like splash pages. I think they look really great, and highlight the artist in bigger and better detail.
So I like to use them for big dramatic shifts, as they’re used in mainstream comic. A lot of what Flying Sparks is meant to accomplish is to act as a resume piece for mainstream superhero comics, so I’m going with their typical formatting. I still enjoy it, and think it builds some great tension. You know, Hannah, being one of the more important supporting characters, if this were a Joss Whedon book, would totally die soon. Just sayin’.
Fear what I might do next!
