Meta-Girl’s got a mean right hook.

A little bit of the fight from the baddies’ perspectives.  Our intrepid superhero is on her game this evening.

In which Meta-Girl shows confidence, poise and acrobatic ability.

Gorgeous page this week.  Jethro really was caught up in the spirit of the action when drawing these, and Shannon did a wonderful job on the colors.  I know I say similar every week, but I remain giddy with each page as this story comes to life.

And here’s your action pay off for waiting through that icky relationship drama I put you through!   Jethro really had fun with these next few pages, so they’re really fun (and pretty!) to look at.  Hope you enjoy!

If you hadn’t noticed, I love writing Chloe and Johnny on the phone.  It’s for a couple of reasons:

1.  It communicates how awkward it is that Chloe’s in her superhero costume and hiding it.

2.  It develops their relationship, but it also shows them visually as separated, which adds a nice tension.

3. It gets quick paced dialogue as other parts of the story unfold.

So that’s why, if you were wondering.  If not, you know anyway!  See you next week!

Back at the shop, our supporting characters grow.

Just so you guys know, Meta-Girl is a straight A student and fairly nerdy, on top of her superheroing day (night?) job.

I love thesepages developing the plot from a different perspective.  Not exactly a mystery what’s going on, but gives the non-main characters a little personal touch too. 

“Marv”, off panel who is being yelled at is a name drop for Marv Wolfman, long time comics writer who wrote some very imortant stuff back in the 70s-80s. 

I need a sign off like “Excelsior!”  Any ideas?

One of those odd pages where I go “where did all my main characters go?”  But it’s important!  To the plot!  Pay attention!
